Indigo Tallboy

 It's been awhile since my last blog post.  Business has been steady, and I need to acquire some more pieces.  The other day Mark and I went to my sister's house to pick up their little guy to bring him up to Grandma's house.  On our way up, Mark spotted this dresser behind an apartment building.  We stopped, turned around, and got pretty excited about finding such a gorgeous piece.  Needless to say, I don't think Forrest was too impressed with the detour.  So I got him out of his seat for a cuddle while Mark loaded this beast into the van.

Here is the before.  It had quite a bit of veneer peeling, and no hardware.

I've never scraped off old veneer, but it's actually really easy.  I just took a scraper...

And it pretty much came right off.  I then sanded it smooth, and did my paint-thing on it.

I spent quite a bit on hardware, and it took me forever to choose just the right pieces.  I wanted a modern, yet classic design, and one that would fit nicely with the paint colour.
 

And in case you didn't notice - last night we finished the dividing wall in the garage!  Mark sanded it down, and I picked up my absolute favourite colour to paint it.
 

It will be especially stunning to display all my white, grey, and natural finished pieces against that wall.
 

Today I'm going out to look at flooring.  I'm not happy with the paint job - and I've gotten this far, I think it's time for some better looking flooring so I can stop dragging around my little grass rug for all the photos.
 

This morning after I finished making my breakfast, I discovered a poop trail from the dining room - through the living room - and ending in the front room.  At the end were two babies, happily eating it.  I almost vomited, scooped them up, and dumped them in the tub.  They were THRILLED to be in the bath so early in the morning.  I sat there, defeated, as they played, and drank my cold coffee.  Ah, life with the babes.
