My Shop

Tonight was the night we finished our shop space.  This has been a work in progress for some time.  Lately, when I've had people come by to take a look at a piece, they exclaim, "oooh!  You have a whole shop set up here!"  This encouraged me to go ahead and finish it.

Indigo Tallboy

It's been awhile since my last blog post.  Business has been steady, and I need to acquire some more pieces.  The other day Mark and I went to my sister's house to pick up their little guy to bring him up to Grandma's house.  On our way up, Mark spotted this dresser behind an apartment building.  We stopped, turned around, and got pretty excited about finding such a gorgeous piece.  Needless to say, I don't think Forrest was too impressed with the detour.  So I got him out of his seat for a cuddle while Mark loaded this beast into the van.

Vintage Bicycle Buffet

As you may have figured out, my new favourite blog is The Graphics Fairy.  She has so many beautiful vintage inspired graphics that you can download (for free!) and use on your projects.  The girls at Staples have become very familiar with the blog as well, from helping me download and print off the images.

A New Week for some New Projects

Yesterday morning I awoke to what may have been the most beautiful summer day we have ever had.  After a long heat wave, a crazy thunder storm came and broke through, leaving us with sunny, cooler weather.

Ombre Dresser

My sister-in-law Laura is a very creative, hands-on person, much like myself.  I think that's why we get along so well.  She recently refinished this dresser, and I asked if I could share it on my blog.

Bonnet Dresser

Friends, I picked up this lovely find tonight, and I'm desperately lacking the inspiration for it.  I feel like I'd like to do typography again, but I'm not sure this is just the right piece for it.  I need your help.  How should I refinish it?

From Pintrosity to Pintastic!

A few posts ago, I wrote about trying to do an image transfer on this buffet.  As you know, it didn't go too well.  Being as stubborn as I am, I didn't give up too quickly.  I finished a few other pieces, did some more research, and tackled it once again.

The Cottage Chic Buffet

Though I'd share a piece I just finished.  I got this buffet as part of a set, and I just love the delicate detail on it.  It's smaller than the standard 5 foot antique buffet, which would make it perfect for a smaller house.

My Very Own Pintrosity.

Yesterday I was pretty pumped to try something new.  I saw this fantastic buffet on pinterest with a transferred image on it.  I packed the girls in the car, drove all the way to Michaels to buy the image transfer gel, then all the way to Staples to have my image professionally printed off.  (Which only cost $4.88, to my great delight).  I had this perfect blank canvas of a buffet to do it on.
