I have a few pieces left from an auction we did a few months ago. This was one of the last pieces to be done. A beautiful little antique hutch in Loyalist Milk Paint.
Here she is, all ready for her new owner.

I love the little ribbing of detail along the top of this piece.
Today I braved the cold, and took my bike for a spin to Mr. Used. Mr. Used is a massive warehouse on Barton Street in Hamilton, full of some treasures, but mostly JUNK. There was an article in the Hamilton Spectator about how he's downsizing, so I went to see if I could score some finds. How it works, is you go off and take pictures of everything you want to buy. Then you go to the front, show him the pictures and he rattles off a price. Here's what I found.
An antique tallboy...
A beautiful armoire that was tossed up upon a pile of stuff. (seriously.)
Hundreds of antique tables...
Some really fun wrought iron bed frames, which I thought would be fun for the girls' room...
A super awesome square baby grand piano - it would be my dream to have something like this restored...
A very useful storage unit for the garage...
Thousands of mismatched wooden legs (good luck finding the table tops for them!)
The sewing machine section (quite a few vintage dreams in there) made me think of Sewing New Hope...
Some really neat vintage stoves... (mind the deepfryers and what-else-nots on it)
And finally a vintage pick-up truck converted into an ice-cream truck. What a fun business this could be a start of!
We welcomed our very first NIECE into the world this weekend! Grace Esther was born on Friday night, at 8lbs, 6oz. I am wary of putting other people's children on the www., so here is a picture of Hannah in her carseat, on the drive back from Peterborough. Happy as can be with her blankie and baby doll.
Until next time...
