I mixed up some Loyalist milk paint (from Homestead House)...
Then I painted it, sanded it down, and applied the graphic. To do this, I simple used carbon paper to transfer the image, then painted it with a creamy white latex paint by hand.
Once that was done, I sanded it down again to make the lettering look distressed.
And voila!
This is one really cute piece.
I didn't sand it down before I started, because I wanted a really chippy look.
I spent the morning making salsa. My friend Cheryl is starting a food blog, so I documented the process with photos.
Caroline helped me chop vegetables, but made sure she knew where the cat was.
And she ate a lot of tomatoes.
Start training them when they're young, right? :)
