A Little French Dresser

This week I had a leftover graphic I had printed off, and was waiting for the perfect piece to use it on.  I acquired this adorable dresser from a lady in Caledonia, and thought it'd be a good piece to try it out.

This is the before picture of the dresser.

I mixed up some Loyalist milk paint (from Homestead House)...

Then I painted it, sanded it down, and applied the graphic.  To do this, I simple used carbon paper to transfer the image, then painted it with a creamy white latex paint by hand.

Once that was done, I sanded it down again to make the lettering look distressed.

And voila!

This is one really cute piece.

I didn't sand it down before I started, because I wanted a really chippy look.

I spent the morning making salsa.  My friend Cheryl is starting a food blog, so I documented the process with photos.

Caroline helped me chop vegetables, but made sure she knew where the cat was.

And she ate a lot of tomatoes.

Start training them when they're young, right?  :)
