Green Tallboy

The latest project I've been working on is this tallboy.  I had originally refinished it using a 'dry brush' technique, and while it was a good learning experience, it didn't sell.   This piece is so awesome, I couldn't let it go for a small price, so I refinished it once again.

Here it is, in its newest look.

The colour I agonized over in Home Depot for quite some time.  I wanted a light green, not too light, but not too bold.  I didn't want it to look tacky.  I finally settled on "Spring Walk" by Behr.

Originally, the piece had wooden knobs.  I thought with the new paint job, they looked too bulky.  I opted for new glass hardware.  At Home Depot, they had 3 different sizes of glass knobs - perfect for this piece.

My favourite part about this dresser is the square drawers on the sides.

This summer, Mark built some wooden planters for me in our backyard.  The only thing that really grew were these Zinnia's.  They are still blooming, providing a bright burst of happiness in my backyard.

  1. I don't recall the original post of this piece, however, this color is beautiful...a nice green and the glass knobs make it really special, and oh do love those little square drawers. Hope it sells quickly for you. I have one question, did you strip the original paint job off before you refinished in green? Warmly, Mary (The Old Elf)

  2. I like the new look of your blog! Great job! I really like to side titles that look like drawer pulls.
